PhD track in chemistry

The PSL PhD track in Chemistry is a fully-funded 5-year program. During the first two years, each student enrolled in the PhD track completes a master’s in chemistry at PSL and starts building their research project. During the next three years, the student develops their research project and conducts a PhD thesis in one of the chemistry laboratories at PSL (note that a collaborative project between laboratories is possible). During that second phase, the student is mentored to gain state-of-the-arts research methods, write academic papers, present at academic conferences and prepare for a successful carrier in academia or industry.

Phase 1 | Research Master in Chemistry

PhD track students will choose the Chemistry track to complete their research master.
Students will explore advanced topics in chemistry in an up-to-date, transversal and transdisciplinary manner. They will gain expert knowledge in fundamental chemistry through research-oriented classes and multiple internship opportunities.

Phase 2 | Doctoral studies

During their doctoral years, students will benefit from the following programs:

PSL interdisciplinary courses: PSL is a strongly interdisciplinary university with special courses that cut across our disciplinary graduate programs and are open to all graduate students;
M&D Chemistry Seminars: this seminar will be organized by and for Master and PhD students;
PSL Chemistry PhD Day: it will give PhD students the opportunity to share their results and will allow the chemistry community to exchange and discuss collaborative projects.
